Ahhh these guys! Nothing but ear to ear smiles all day. I had an absolute ball being part of their day – and I know from the grins and giggles on these photos that all their family and friends did too!
Manchester Town Hall wedding photography
This was the last wedding I shot at Manchester Town Hall before it shut for a seven year (SEVEN YEAR!!) refurbishment. What a wedding to finish on though eh! Born and bred Mancunians there was no question where Lois and Jamie would hold their wedding. The Town Hall is a stunning building set in the heart of the city. Full of nooks and crannies, sweeping staircases and amazing tiled floors it’s one of my favourite buildings and I love shooting there.
I headed over to Lois and Jamie’s house in the morning where Lois was getting ready with her bridesmaids and Dad (although dad spent most the time keeping everyone brewed up!) I made a quick trip round the corner to Jamie’s family home where he was eating bacon butties with his parents and beloved family dog (check out how cute he is!) before getting ready with his best man and ushers. As they set off to the church I sped off back to see Lois get her dress on (check out the photo of her Dad’s amazing reaction) before joining the boys at church ready for Lois’ arrival.
There’s always a worry with church services that they can be quite stern and have little meaning to the couple. Not here! This church had been part of their family life for years so the service was so personal to them both.
Ceremony over, hugs and kisses given we headed over to the Town Hall for some time relaxing with family and friends, a few portraits and then food. Check out the table decorations – named after lands from Game of Thrones! They proved to be a big talking point when everyone took their seats.
Some of my favourite photos from the day are the dancefloor. How much fun did these guys have?!
Lois and Jamie, I LOVED your day. Thank you so much for having me along!
