This was such a good day! Bonnie and Pete’s wedding at Darwin Lake was INCREDIBLE! What a party from start to finish!
Bonnie and Pete’s wedding took place last September. They took over the brilliant Darwin Lakes for the weekend and hosted a pretty darn epic wedding festival for their loved ones.
Darwin Lake is a lakeside holiday village in the heart of the Peak District. Tucked away in woodlands it was a beautiful setting for Bonnie and Pete’s weekend extravaganza.

I started the day hanging out with Bonnie and her girls in one of the holiday cottages. As everyone had stayed on site the night before it was lovely to see people popping in to say hi, helping to set the reception venue up and just generally enjoying the festivities. It was then a short stroll over to Darwin Hall where the ceremony and reception were taking place.
The ceremony was super emotional! I don’t think there was a dry eye in the house. Especially during Bonnie’s brother’s reading and Pete’s vows!
Tears dried, hugs given, it was time to get on with partying. These two love entertainment and music and had planned a fab day for all their guests. Things kicked off with an Irish band playing outside in the sunshine before speeches began. As expected these were full of emotion – mainly laughter! And shots. Lots and lots of shots!
The party
Pete has worked in theatre and entertainment all his life so was determined that the wedding party would be amazing. And it was! His friend’s band were brilliant and kept the dancefloor packed all night. Wedding guests were fuelled by wood fired pizzas (and alcohol!) and the dancemoves were epic!
Pete and Bonnie, I LOVED being part of your day. Looking back over your photos for this blog post has made me smile so much!
It was hard to narrow down my favourites but I’ve given it a good go…
Wowzers Han! These are BURSTING with emotion. Amazing 🙂 x x
