Winter wedding photography

This was such a lovely December wedding – the sun shone, the weather was that lovely crisp cold and there was a real sense of ‘pre-Christmas’ joy in the air!

Chris and Diane got married at the lovely Styal Lodge, which is a family run, ‘blank canvas’ wedding venue on the Cheshire/Manchester border. It also meant that they could have their ceremony and reception at the same venue was great, because that means more time for drinks and time spent with friends!  I love shooting weddings at Styal Lodge because the staff are so lovely and the building can be personalised so easily. The venue itself is a purpose built, open plan lodge with loads of natural light, tucked away in the grounds of Styal Golf Club. It’s a real hidden gem.

The girls got ready in the bridal room at Styal. This is such a lovely room next to the main ceremony space and means that bridal prep is super relaxed as there isn’t far to travel at all for the ceremony – if you were running really late you could just walk through a door! Most brides though head through the gardens to the main door! I nipped over to the Club House to see Chris and their adorable daughter Gracie. I also spotted the best men Craig and Mike hiding in a corner working on their speech…

The ceremony itself was lovely, full of giggles as a ceremony should be! The three of us then jumped into a golf buggy to head to the lake for a few photos – again with loads more giggling!

Then we headed back to Styal Lodge . After some really funny and emotional speeches it was time for the party. The band kicked off and the dancefloor was packed. What a night!

Here are a few of my favourites from the day…
