I’m a big fan of Hyde Bank Farm. It’s a real Stockport hidden gem. Tucked away down a side road you drive past a huge factory and lots of industrial buildings before the road opens out to glorious countryside and this rustic set of farm buildings.

Christine and Andrew both live nearby and chose Hyde Bank Farm as it was the perfect mix of being nice and local but still far enough away from the city to feel like you’re in the middle of nowhere. The fields around the farm are fab and perfect for guests to explore and enjoy, when the weather plays ball that is. On Christine and Andrew’s day a rather unexpected guest – Storm Brian! – turned up so options for getting out and about were rather limited! More on that later!

The wedding ceremony at Hyde Bank Farm

The ceremony room is full of character with stone walls and rustic wooden beams decorated with fairy lights. I love intimate ceremonies and this one was perfect. Both of them were understandably pretty nervous beforehand but as soon as they saw each other their smiles lit up the room!

We then all headed downstairs to the reception room. This is a new addition to Hyde Bank and I love it. It’s a really bright and airy space and perfect for weddings when the weather is pretty poor. As I mentioned earlier ‘Brian’ had turned up and the wind and rain made going outside just a little bit tricky! As with all weddings though when the weather doesn’t play ball it didn’t make a difference at all. There’s a real ‘Brit spirit’ that comes out when it rains and this wedding was no exception. Christine and Andrew were determined to get outside for their confetti photos so made me promise to grab them as soon as there was a slight break in the rain. We all dashed outside and threw handfuls of confetti. As you can see from the above photo they’d definitely taken my advice on board – “You can never have too much confetti!”

We managed to have ten minutes for photos of the two of them which was perfect. As with all my couples Andrew and Christine had booked me for my documentary photography however it’s great to have a break from the wedding and just take a few minutes to have some photos together and a bit of a breather!

This was such a great day to be a part of and I loved photographing it. Thanks so much for having me along Christine and Andrew!
