…and I take pictures of people! Originally from Blackpool, I now live in the Cheshire countryside with my lovely husband, Trev, our cheeky daughter Nell and our pretty darn cute pup, Nancy.

This photography journey of mine began about ten years ago, in the dark and sweaty clubs and gig venues of Manchester. Taking photos of bands was a dream job for this self confessed music obsessive and I got up close and personal with some pretty big names including Skunk Anansie, Will Young and Florence and the Machine. Taking pictures at a wedding is a doddle after all that – I don’t need to dodge people throwing pint pots filled with dubious contents for a start! Seriously though, my past photography adventures has given me the perfect grounding for weddings – thinking on my feet, shooting fast and working in all kinds of crazy conditions are all essential wedding photography skills!

Fast forward a few years and you could find me wandering the world, camera in hand, documenting charity and sustainable development work. I also climbed a glacier (flippin’ FREEZING), dived with great white sharks (flippin’ TERRIFYING), and spent a lot of time camping, kayaking and having the most fun ever.

I came home eventually and I got asked to photograph a friend’s wedding. Their gamble (and mine) paid off. They loved my ‘in your face’ storytelling photography and began to recommend me to anyone who would listen. Thanks guys! The rest is history…

My own loves..

Not long after I returned to the UK I ‘swiped right’ on a cheeky, bearded Mancunian. We clicked from the moment we met and haven’t stopped chatting and laughing together since. We got married ourselves a couple of years ago and now live on the edge of the Peak District with our daughter Nell and Nancy, our rescue dog and original baby! We still love to travel but now tend to take shorter trips… we’re home birds at heart. In fact, give us a dog walk, a country pub and some real ale and we’re in our element!

We could end up spending a lot of time together on your wedding day so I’ll leave you with a few more of my favourite things…

A few other reasons why we might be a good fit

The photographs on the this website are making you laugh/cry/feel pretty flipping excited about your day

Bold, bright and full of life. That’s my style and if that’s what you’re after then great! I treat every wedding individually. I tell the story of YOUR day. That way you get the photos that no one else has.

You’re super laid back and know that some traditions are made to be broken

Don’t fancy cutting the cake? Don’t! Want to turn your first dance into a mass danceathon? Go for it! Whatever you do on your wedding day I’ll be there to shoot the heck out of it. Want to keep some of the traditions? That’s great too! Whatever makes your day work for you then I’m down with that.

I’m a real person, not a huge studio

Basically, I care. I’m the one that you’re going to be dealing with so it’s me you get to know, and I think thats super important to make sure that you trust me on your wedding day. I don’t want you to worry about where I am and what I’m photographing. Enjoy yourselves and just know that you’re going to love the photographs you get after your day.

You’re after a photographer who will get stuck into your wedding, not hide on the sidelines

I promise you, I’m not going to skulk around the sidelines ‘unobtrusively’ looking like a weirdo with the worlds biggest camera lens. I’m going to be in there, amongst the action. Be part of everything that’s going on. There’s no better way to experience and photograph all the energy and moments that make your day unique.

You want your images to be completely individual to you

I’m a sucker for Pinterest. I love seeing other people’s ideas, but I also know that trying to recreate anyone else’s day is not going to work for you. You are are not that couple, you’re bringing your own personality to the day.

Your wedding day is a party to celebrate you guys and your love

This sums up everything I believe a wedding is. It’s about you two. Your love and the celebrations that surround that. Whether those celebrations take place in a church, a field, a local pub or a beach, all that matters is that you’re surrounded by the people you love the most and I’m going to take photos of that.

Shoutouts and claims to fame…

It’s a cliche, but I’m really proud to describe myself as an ‘award winning photographer’. And by that I don’t mean I took part in a ‘get as many people to vote for me as possible’ social media frenzy.

I’ve got some proper nice ‘she’s not bad at this photography lark’ awards. Cosmopolitan listed me as one of their 15 Best Wedding Photographers for 2020. I’ve been named as one of the World’s Best Wedding Photographers  by the prestigious Junebug Weddings. 20Collective called me their ‘Emerging talent’ and I was one of only 200 photographers worldwide who was shortlisted for Rangefinders Rising Stars of Wedding Photography.

Basically, awards like that mean I’m pretty darn serious about what I do. I work hard at it and I’m going to continue to provide the very best service and photography possible for you guys.

None of this matters though unless the important people – the couples I’ve spent the day with – are happy too and you can what they’ve got to say in my lovely brochure.
