I absolutely adored this day. Ellen and Pete are both rowers (for rival clubs!) so their day was full of colour, rowing paraphenalia and a lot of interteam banter!
Willington Hall wedding photography
Willington Hall is a gorgeous country house wedding venue right in the heart of the Cheshire countryside. Known as one of Cheshire’s best kept secrets it really is a hidden gem. You drive down a non descript driveway and enter 17 acres of beautiful garden and parkland.
Now with this being a British summer wedding we spent a lot of the day dodging the rainshowers. Ellen and Pete (and their guests) were amazing though. They didn’t stop smiling once and as soon as there was a break in the weather they all piled outside to make the most of the grounds. These short sunny spells also meant that Pete, Ellen and I could sneak off for a bit of a wander around the gardens and take some portraits of the two of them. One of the bonuses of a rainy day though is that the sun always seems to shine in the evening and we get one of those gorgeous summer nights that everyone loves.
I had such a lovely day with Pete, Ellen and their family and friends. It was one of those weddings where I felt as much a guest as a photographer and this always makes for more relaxed photos. Here are a few of my favourites.
