“Thank you so much for these wonderful photos! They’ve surpassed our expectations and it’s been great looking back through the day that seemed to fly by in such a rush! It was a pleasure having you as part of our day.”
I feel like we’re trapped in the longest winter of all time at the moment. Although on Saturday there was a very welcome glimpse of blue skies and sunshine so I’ve got my fingers crossed that spring is finally on the way!
On that note, and as a last ‘hurrah’ to winter I’m posting Gillian and Matt’s winter wedding on the blog today.
Winter wedding at Fanhams Hall
If you’re going to get married when it’s cold and dark outside then there’s no better place to be trapped inside than Fanhams Hall. Set in the Hertfordshire countryside just outside Ware the Hall is a Jacobean manor full of light open spaces mixed with oak panelled walls and high windows. The ceremony room was a stunning long gallery full of windows that let the winter light stream in and the reception took place in the library which was super cosy and meant everyone could mingle with the newly weds.
As I arrived there was a low fog settled over the Hall. Very atmospheric! The fog hung around all day and we even had a bit of snow! Nothing phased Gillian and Matt though. They were intent on having a party and party they did!
The evening entertainment was an amazing ceilidh performed by some of their good friends. It started with a traditional drink – I’m not sure what was in the flask but judging by the faces pulled it was some particularly strong alcohol – before descending into dancefloor chaos.
Gillian and Matt, what a day! I loved being part of it and I loved the fun that you guys had. You embraced every moment!
