If you’ve never been to the Crab & Lobster then go! It’s probably one of my new favourite venues. Set just outside Thirsk in the gorgeous North Yorkshire countryside it’s a real hidden treasure.
Kelly and David’s ceremony took place in the boutique hotel Crab Manor. Packed with quirky designs, a gigantic yeti and a secret beer tap this isn’t your ordinary wedding venue! There’s so much to see and explore.
The ceremony took place in the conservatory. It’s not the biggest space but it really makes the wedding feel intimate and personal. Kelly and David’s family and friends then enjoyed the gardens as it was an absolutely glorious summer afternoon.
For the wedding meal we headed down to the Crab & Lobster itself, an offbeat gastropub. The room in which the meal is held is just as fantastic as Crab Manor. Deep sea divers and skeletons hang from the ceiling, the walls are covered in all sorts of paraphernalia and there are all sorts of knick knacks dotted around. It’s the sort of place you could visit every week and still spot something new each time.
After the meal we took some time out in the evening sunshine to wander around the grounds and get some photos of Kelly and David before rejoining the guests outside the Crab & Lobster for magic tricks, a BBQ and lots of laughter.
The evening party kicked off with the first dance before moving smoothly into a slow dance. Then the music stopped, the DJ’s equipment had gone wrong…or had it?! A waiter brought in an old gramophone and Kelly and her girls took over the dance floor to perform a routine they’d been practicing on the hen do. Their impromptu flash mob went down a storm and took everyone by surprise. It was fantastic and ended up with a packed dance floor as all the guests joined in.
