Look at how happy these guys are! I don’t think either of them stopped smiling all day!

Firstly though, let’s talk about the location for their wedding. The gorgeous West Yorkshire Victorian village of Saltaire. Now I’d never been here before, even though Mr K’s favourite ale comes from Saltaire Brewery, but I would love to return. Especially as there’s a permanent David Hockney exhibition on show! It’s a UNESCO World Heritage Site which means theres loads of history and beautiful buildings to look at too – definitely a place for a history buff like me!

Victoria Hall wedding photography

The Victoria Hall where they held their wedding ceremony was opened in 1871 and has since become almost the hub of the village with loads of events held there from weddings to pilates classes!

It’s fair to say that Dipa and David’s wedding was a real meeting of cultures from David’s Scottish background to Dipa’s Indian heritage. There were so many friends and family from all over the country to wish them well and it made for a fantastic, energetic atmosphere.

The humanist ceremony was beautifully heartfelt with touches of both their personalities while the wedding reception was lively and full of laughter and hugs. My favourite things about weddings!

After an amazing wedding meal of some of the best curry I’ve had the party really started. The band played a mixture of modern (I sound like my grandparents!) songs then started a ceilidh. As you can imagine everyone was up dancing the night away!

Thank you to Katie Byram (and baby bump!) for coming along and second shooting with me for the day. I definitely needed you to help me capture all those smiling faces!

Here are just a few of my favourites from the day and if you’re planning your own wedding at Victoria Hall or anywhere else in Saltaire then please let me know. Would love to be a part of your day!
