Oh my days! When Ying emailed me to ask if I’d be prepared to travel to Venice to photograph her wedding to Marco it took me all of 2 seconds (maybe not even that long!) to say YES!

Ying is from Manchester but lives in Australia where she met Marco. They fell in love, Marco proposed and they started planning their wedding in Marco’s home country, Italy.

The wedding took place at the end of August on the beautiful island of Torcello, about an hour’s boat ride from Venice. As you can imagine it was absolutely perfect weather – although maybe a little too hot for poor Marco in his three piece suit!

Around 1500 years ago Torcello used to the most important island in the Venetian Lagoon and the cathedral still dominates the landscape although only around a dozen families actually live on the island now. Instead tourists flock there to visit the cathedral, churches and sample the delicious food at Locanda Cipriani which is where Ying and Marco held their day.

I started the day with Ying and her girls as they got ready. Lots of laughter and bottles of champagne pretty much set the mood for the day! We then spent the rest of the wedding in fits of giggles, heard some amazing speeches and then partied the night away to some, erm…classics (YMCA and Superman anyone?!) Seriously though, it was an absolutely incredible day. Congratulations Ying and Marco!

If you’re looking for wedding photographer in Venice, Lancashire or anywhere just give me a shout!
