Way back in the day when I had a decent camera but had never been to a wedding my mum (as parents tend to do) told her friends that I’d photograph their wedding. Little did I know that that day would end up being the start of a whole new career for me. I photographed Carol and Bill’s wedding. Then a year later Bill’s daughter asked me to photograph her wedding…fast forward to now and Rebecca’s good friends Jane and Tim got in touch.

As Jane said in her initial email they were ‘getting the legal stuff out of the way in the UK’ so that they could concentrate on having a fun and beautiful few days in France with their family and friends.

This wedding was incredible! Jane and Tim and their amazing friends and family took over Chateau Le Mont Epinguet near Cherbourg for the wedding week and really went to town on the decoration. So much so that I’ve included so many photos of the set up just because it was so amazing what they all managed to do!

Having first visited the Chateau seven years ago Jane and Tim fell in love with it and even uttered the words “One day, when we get married…” and their dream came true!

In true Brits abroad style the day of the wedding arrived and it poured down! However, having to abandon plans to hold the ceremony outside on the lawn just meant that everyone piled into the barn instead and kept themselves warm with copious amounts of fizz! The ceremony was so personal and wonderful. All their favourite people stood up and spoke about Jane and Tim before Jane gave a speech and then Tim brought tears to everyone’s eyes when he sang a song he’d written for his new wife. It was full of laughter, full of love and full of the very best kinds of emotion.

It was then time to party! Everyone moved to an old, ramshackle barn that had been decorated so brilliantly for the day. Drink flowed, there was huge amounts of wonderful food and the party started.

I had an absolute blast being part of the day and it still brings a huge smile to my face now whenever I think about it. Thanks to my buddy Ayesha from Ayesha Rahman Photography for coming along for the adventure too!

This is a long one as it’s been so hard to cut my favourites down…get yourself a brew and enjoy the photos!
