Rollercoaster.

The only word that even comes close to describing 2012. Amazing highs, crashing lows with some scary family illness but it’s a year that I’ll look back on and feel immensely pleased and proud of.

I’m so so lucky to have some of the best people in the world (yes, really) in my life. I’m not going to do a roll call but I think they all know who they are and how much they mean to me. So thank you. It’s a cliche but without them I would’ve struggled to have as much fun, laugh as much or get through the long hours in hospital waiting rooms/wards. I’d also have drunk a lot less alcohol but I don’t think that’s such a bad thing!

I’ve been fortunate enough to travel all over the country both for weddings and for a couple of much needed breaks. I even jumped on a plane and headed out on a last minute trip to France for the Festival du Film Britannique in Dinard, a pretty special trip for this Hitchcock fan and something I hope becomes a regular excursion!

All of my travelling this year though pales slightly (no offence France and the Lake District) with the adventure I’m about to head out on. Later this month I’ll be in my new home, Morogoro in Tanzania. This will be my base for the next 3 months as I travel over the country documenting the work of Raleigh International. I can’t wait to see some more of the world and come back with lots and lots of images and tales to tell! I’ll be setting up a blog for while I’m out there, so will post the link in the next few days. I’ll still be in email contact though and booking for the remaining 2013 dates and 2014 so don’t hesitate to get in touch about your wedding!

Anyway, enough from me…apart from to say I’ll also be running the Great North Run later this year for Headway, the brain injury charity. Please visit my JustGiving page to find out more.

Ok, really enough from me now…here are some of the images that, to me, stand out for various reasons from 2012. Thank you to all the couples/families/friends I’ve worked with in the last 12 months. You’ve been ace!

Oh I should give a shout out to the ace venues I’ve been lucky enough to work at this year too! Gorton Monastry, Styal Lodge, Belle Epoque, Manchester Town Hall, Stock (amazing food!), Cardiff Museum, Dunham Massey, Belmount Hall, Dukes92, Rivington Barn, Ashton Court, Hyde Bank Farm, Soulton Hall, Talton Lodge, Heaton House Farm, Eaves Hall, Singleton Lodge, Capesthorne Hall…gardens, village halls, fields…they’ve all been so varied but been such an important part of the day!
